και επ' αυτους τρεις προεδρους, εις των οποιων ητο ο Δανιηλ, δια ν' αποδιδωσι λογον εις αυτους οι σατραπαι ουτοι, και ο βασιλευς να μη ζημιονηται.

And Baltasar drinking gave orders as he tasted the wine that they should bring the gold and silver vessels, which Nabuchodonosor his father had brought forth from the temple in Jerusalem; that the king, and his nobles, and his mistresses, and his concubines, should drink out of them.

ففاق دانيال هذا على الوزراء والمرازبة لان فيه روحا فاضلة وفكر الملك في ان يوليه على المملكة كلها.
Τοτε ο Δανιηλ ουτος προετιμηθη υπερ τους προεδρους και σατραπας, διοτι πνευμα εξοχον ητο εν αυτω· και ο βασιλευς εστοχασθη να καταστηση αυτον εφ' ολου του βασιλειου.

So the gold and silver vessels were brought which Nabuchodonosor had taken out of the temple of God in Jerusalem; and the king, and his nobles, and his mistresses, and his concubines, drank out of them.

ثم ان الوزراء والمرازبة كانوا يطلبون علّة يجدونها على دانيال من جهة المملكة فلم يقدروا ان يجدوا علّة ولا ذنبا لانه كان امينا ولم يوجد فيه خطأ ولا ذنب.
Οι δε προεδροι και οι σατραπαι εζητουν να ευρωσι προφασιν κατα του Δανιηλ εκ των υποθεσεων της βασιλειας· πλην δεν ηδυναντο να ευρωσιν ουδεμιαν προφασιν ουδε αμαρτημα· διοτι ητο πιστος, και δεν ευρεθη εν αυτω ουδεν σφαλμα ουδε αμαρτημα.

They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of iron, and of wood, and of stone.

فقال هؤلاء الرجال لا نجد على دانيال هذا علّة الا ان نجدها من جهة شريعة الهه.
Και ειπον οι ανθρωποι ουτοι, δεν θελομεν ευρει προφασιν κατα του Δανιηλ τουτου, εκτος εαν ευρωμεν τι εναντιον αυτου εκ του νομου του Θεου αυτου.

In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote in front of the lamp on the plaster of the wall of the king’s house: and the king saw the knuckles of the hand that wrote.

Τοτε οι προεδροι και οι σατραπαι ουτοι συνηχθησαν εις τον βασιλεα και ειπον ουτω προς αυτον· Βασιλευ Δαρειε, ζηθι εις τον αιωνα.

Then the king’s countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him, and the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one another.

ان جميع وزراء المملكة والشحن والمرازبة والمشيرين والولاة قد تشاوروا على ان يضعوا أمرا ملكيا ويشددوا نهيا بان كل من يطلب طلبة حتى ثلاثين يوما من اله او انسان الا منك ايها الملك يطرح في جب الأسود.
Παντες οι προεδροι του βασιλειου, οι διοικηται και οι σατραπαι, οι αυλικοι και οι τοπαρχαι, συνεβουλευθησαν να εκδοθη βασιλικον ψηφισμα και να στηριχθη απαγορευσις, οτι οστις καμη αιτησιν τινα παρ' οποιουδηποτε θεου η ανθρωπου, εως τριακοντα ημερων, εκτος παρα σου, βασιλευ, ουτος να ριφθη εις τον λακκον των λεοντων·

And the king cried aloud to bring in the magicians, Chaldeans, and soothsayers; and he said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and make known to me the interpretation, shall be clothed with scarlet, and there shall be a golden chain upon his neck, and he shall be the third ruler in my kingdom.

Οθεν ο βασιλευς Δαρειος υπεγραψε την γραφην και την απαγορευσιν.

And king Baltasar was troubled, and his countenance changed upon him, and his nobles were troubled with him.

فلما علم دانيال بامضاء الكتابة ذهب الى بيته وكواه مفتوحة في عليته نحو اورشليم فجثا على ركبتيه ثلاث مرات في اليوم وصلّى وحمد قدام الهه كما كان يفعل قبل ذلك.
Και ο Δανιηλ, καθως εμαθεν οτι υπεγραφη η γραφη, εισηλθεν εις τον οικον αυτου· και εχων τας θυριδας του κοιτωνος αυτου ανεωγμενας προς την Ιερουσαλημ, επιπτεν επι τα γονατα αυτου τρις της ημερας, προσευχομενος και δοξολογων ενωπιον του Θεου αυτου, καθως εκαμνε προτερον.

Then the queen came into the banquet house, and said, O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, and let not thy countenance be changed.

There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the Spirit of God; and in the days of thy father watchfulness and understanding were found in him; and king Nabuchodonosor thy father made him chief of the enchanters, magicians, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.

فتقدموا وتكلموا قدام الملك في نهي الملك. ألم تمض ايها الملك نهيا بان كل انسان يطلب من اله او انسان حتى ثلاثين يوما الا منك ايها الملك يطرح في جب الأسود. فاجاب الملك وقال الامر صحيح كشريعة مادي وفارس التي لا تنسخ.
Οθεν προσελθοντες ελαλησαν εμπροσθεν του βασιλεως περι της βασιλικης απαγορευσεως λεγοντες, Δεν υπεγραψας αποφασιν, οτι πας ανθρωπος, οστις καμη αιτησιν παρ' οποιουδηποτε θεου η ανθρωπου, εως τριακοντα ημερων, εκτος παρα σου, βασιλευ, θελει ριφθη εις τον λακκον των λεοντων; Ο βασιλευς απεκριθη και ειπεν, Αληθινος ειναι ο λογος, κατα τον νομον των Μηδων και Περσων, οστις δεν ακυρουται.

For there is an excellent spirit in him, and sense and understanding in him, interpreting dreams as he does, and answering hard questions, and solving difficulties: it is Daniel, and the king gave him the name of Baltasar: now then let him be called, and he shall tell thee the interpretation of the writing.

حينئذ اجابوا وقالوا قدام الملك ان دانيال الذي من بني سبي يهوذا لم يجعل لك ايها الملك اعتبارا ولا للنهي الذي امضيته بل ثلاث مرات في اليوم يطلب طلبته.
Τοτε απεκριθησαν και ειπον εμπροσθεν του βασιλεως, Ο Δανιηλ εκεινος, ο εκ των υιων της αιχμαλωσιας του Ιουδα, δεν σε σεβεται, βασιλευ, ουδε την αποφασιν την οποιαν υπεγραψας, αλλα καμνει την δεησιν αυτου τρις της ημερας.

Then Daniel was brought in before the king: and the king said to Daniel, Art thou Daniel, of the children of the captivity of Judea, which the king my father brought?

فلما سمع الملك هذا الكلام اغتاظ على نفسه جدا وجعل قلبه على دانيال لينجيه واجتهد الى غروب الشمس لينقذه.
Τοτε ο βασιλευς, ως ηκουσε τους λογους, ελυπηθη πολυ επ' αυτω και εφροντιζεν εγκαρδιως περι του Δανιηλ να ελευθερωση αυτον, και ηγωνιζετο μεχρι της δυσεως του ηλιου δια να λυτρωση αυτον.

I have heard concerning thee, that the Spirit of God is in thee, and that watchfulness and understanding and excellent wisdom have been found in thee.

فاجتمع اولئك الرجال الى الملك وقالوا للملك اعلم ايها الملك ان شريعة مادي وفارس هي ان كل نهي اوامر يضعه الملك لا يتغيّر.
Τοτε οι ανθρωποι εκεινοι συνηχθησαν εις τον βασιλεα και ειπον προς αυτον, Εξευρε, βασιλευ, οτι ο νομος των Μηδων και Περσων ειναι, ουδεμια απαγορευσις ουτε διαταγη, την οποιαν ο βασιλευς καμη, να ακυρουται.

And now, the wise men, magicians, and soothsayers, have come in before me, to read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation: but they could not tell it me.

And I have heard concerning thee, that thou art able to make interpretations: now then if thou shalt be able to read the writing, and to make known to me the interpretation of it, thou shalt be clothed with purple, and there shall be a golden chain upon thy neck, and thou shalt be third ruler in my kingdom.

وأتي بحجر ووضع على فم الجب وختمه الملك بخاتمه وخاتم عظمائه لئلا يتغيّر القصد في دانيال
Και εφερθη εις λιθος και επετεθη επι το στομα του λακκου, και ο βασιλευς εσφραγισεν αυτον δια της ιδιας αυτου σφραγιδος και δια της σφραγιδος των μεγιστανων αυτου, δια να μη αλλοιωθη μηδεν περι του Δανιηλ.

And Daniel said, before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give the present of thine house to another; but I will read the writing, and will make known to thee the interpretation of it.

Τοτε ο βασιλευς υπηγεν εις το παλατιον αυτου και διενυκτερευσε νηστικος και δεν εφερθησαν εμπροσθεν αυτου οργανα μουσικα, και ο υπνος αυτου εφυγεν απ' αυτου.

and by reason of the majesty which he gave to him, all nations, tribes, and languages trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he smote; and whom he would he exalted; and whom he would he abased.

فلما اقترب الى الجب نادى دانيال بصوت اسيف. اجاب الملك وقال لدانيال يا دانيال عبد الله الحي هل الهك الذي تعبده دائما قدر على ان ينجيك من الأسود.
Και οτε ηλθεν εις τον λακκον, εφωνησε μετα φωνης κλαυθμηρας προς τον Δανιηλ· και ελαλησεν ο βασιλευς και ειπε προς τον Δανιηλ, Δανιηλ, δουλε του Θεου του ζωντος, ο Θεος σου, τον οποιον συ λατρευεις ακαταπαυστως, ηδυνηθη να σε ελευθερωση εκ των λεοντων;

But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was emboldened to act proudly, he was deposed from his royal throne, and his honour was taken from him.
Τοτε ελαλησεν ο Δανιηλ προς τον βασιλεα, Βασιλευ, ζηθι εις τον αιωνα.

And he was driven forth from men; and his heart was given him after the nature of wild beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses; and they fed him with grass as an ox, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven; until he knew that the most high God is Lord of the kingdom of men, and will give it to whomsoever he shall please.

Τοτε ο βασιλευς μεγαλως εχαρη επ' αυτω και προσεταξε να αναβιβασωσι τον Δανιηλ εκ του λακκου. Και ανεβιβασθη ο Δανιηλ εκ του λακκου και ουδεμια βλαβη ηυρεθη εν αυτω, διοτι ειχε πιστιν εις τον Θεον αυτου.

And thou has been exalted against the Lord God of heaven; and they have brought before thee the vessels of his house, and thou, and thy nobles, and thy mistresses, and thy concubines, have drunk wine out of them; and thou has praised the gods of gold, and silver, and brass, and iron, and wood, and stone, which see not, and which hear not, and know not: and the God in whose hand are thy breath, and all thy ways has thou not glorified.

فامر الملك فاحضروا اولئك الرجال الذين اشتكوا على دانيال وطرحوهم في جب الأسود هم واولادهم ونساءهم. ولم يصلوا الى اسفل الجب حتى بطشت بهم الأسود وسحقت كل عظامهم
